Choco-slice



This is one of the first dishes I learnt from my mom when I was a kid.Its an interesting way to turn boring biscuits into a scrumptious chocolate dessert!And there is no baking no cooking !!!
And when I made this for my hubby he asked me thrice "Ghar pe bana hai?"
So do you want to try this yummy chocolate dessert which just requires few ingredients and does not involve any cooking or baking!!!

So go ahead and try this interesting ChOCO SLICE !!!

Ingredients
 10 Marie biscuits/Rich tea biscuits
 1 Tbsp Butter
 2 Tbsp Icing sugar
 1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
1/2 tsp Coffee powder
1/2 Cup Water


Method
In a bowl mix butter,cocoa powder and icing sugar till it becomes smooth and creamy.Now take water and add coffee powder in a another bowl.Dip the biscuits one by one and keep them on a plate one above the other forming a stack.
Let it set for about a minute.Now apply the butter cocoa mixture on the  biscuit log covering all sides.Refrigerate it for 4-5 hours.Now cut slices diagonally.
Enjoy your choco-slice !!

nutritious soya keema




There are a few things which are always on my shopping list when I visit the Indian grocery stores here in London and soya chunks is one of them.This time I bought a packet of soya granules.So thought of trying something with it and what better way than cooking soya keema which is healthy as well as yummy.

For this super delicious veg keema you need :

1 cup Soya granules
1 large onion finely chopped
1 tomato finely  chopped
1 tsp tomato paste
1/4 cup peas
1 bay leaf 
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/3 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
1tsp coriander leaves
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking


Method:

Soak soya granules in milk for an hour.Heat oil in a pan and  bay leaf and then onions.Cook till lightly browned.Add garlic & ginger and cook for a minute.Add tomatoes and tomato paste and cook till softened.Add coriander powder,turmeric powder, cumin powder, chilli powder,garam masala  & 2 tbsp of water.Stir & cook for 3-4 minutes.Add green peas &soya granules 1/4 cup of water & mix well.Add salt.Cover and cook till its done.Add coriander leaves and  mix well. Serve hot.

say cheese with cheesy macaroni :) :)

So if you also wanna  bring smile to your loved ones here's how you can make this yummy cheesy macaroni :


Ingredients

2 cup macaroni 
1 Onion chopped
1/2 tsp garlic 
1 tbsp butter
3 tbsp maida
1 cup milk
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
Salt to taste


Method

Boil macaroni.Meanwhile in a pan saute onion and garlic until tender.Set aside.Now melt some butter in a pan,add maida until smooth.Add milk and keep stirring to avoid any lumps.Bring it to boil and cook it until the sauce is thickened.Add cheese and cook just until melted.Add the cooked onion mixture.Now add macaroni,salt ,black pepper,basil and oregano.Give it a good mix and cook it for a minute.
Your cheesy macaroni is ready to serve.






Say cheese with CHEESY MACARONI and make your loved ones smile coz  a smile takes  a moment, but the memory of it lasts forever.

chatpati chana chaat !!!!!!


A simple snack for the afternoon and evening hunger pangs !

Take a cup of boiled kala chana.
Take oil in a pan...add zeera and green chilli.
Add boiled chana,dhaniya-zeera powder,red chilli powder and garam masala.
Mix it and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Now take this chana mix in a bowl,add chopped tomatoes,onions,roasted peanuts and lemon juice.
Enjoy it with coffee/tea or juice!!!!

the healthy duo: spinach and corn

I had never imagined that spinach and corn when put together can taste so great and healthy until I cooked this :


Here's the healthy recipe for you:

Ingredients:

1 cup Corn (boiled)
1/4 cup Fresh cream
3 medium bunch of Spinach leaves
1 Onion (chopped)
1 tsp Ginger paste
1 tsp Garlic paste
1 Green chilli (chopped)
1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
1/2 tsp zeera
1/2 tsp Kasuri methi
Salt to taste
Oil

Method
Blanch spinach first ,then  strain and mash it and keep it aside.
Take oil in a pan, add zeera and then chopped onions. Cook it  until golden brown.
Add ginger and garlic pastes and green chillies and saute for 3-5 mins.
Now add corn, spinach, pepper powder and  salt
Mix it well and let it cook for 3-5  minutes.Add kasuri methi.
Add fresh cream and simmer till you reach the  desired consistency.
Enjoy it with chapatis/naan/parantha!


Now comes the best part.....with the left overs you can make these yummy spinach and corn sandwiches.
Take bread of your choice and use the leftover veggie to make this !!
