Well I couldn't wait to share this recipe with all of you....had some puff pastry lying in my freezer...made some apple pie...then what to do with the left over...came across this super quick recipe of cheese straws...made few changes and the result was this superyummy starter....you can enjoy with soup or just simply for snacking.

Puff pastry block /sheet
1 tsp Butter
1 tsp Garlic powder/Minced garlic
1 tbsp Grated cheese
1 tsp Sesame seeds
1/2 tsp Dried basil
1 tsp Beaten Egg
The recipe will make 10 cheesy sticks.
Method
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Roll out sheet of pastry and brush with beaten egg.Sprinkle cheese all over the surface. Then apply butter and garlic mixture.Sprinkle sesame seeds and dried basil.Pat and turn it carefully.Do the same on the other side of the sheet.
Cut into thin strips . Transfer strips to baking sheet. Taking both ends with your fingers twist in opposite directions forming a spiral shape.
Bake it till golden brown.
Enjoy warm or store it in air tight container for upto two days.
It was my first attempt so it didnt turned out quite neat since I was cooking other things as well...but trust me it tastes divine...simply yummm !!!!!!
