Hi everyone!!Well finally it snowed this weekend and seriously it was worth the wait....Both hubby and I were so excited like kids...we had a great time playing in the snow and enjoying the beauty of the snowfall.So cheers to our first snow!!!
And here is one more reason to celebrate...Its my 50th post...and it feels quite like a birthday!!Never did I imagine that blogging would give me so much joy.It has been a great journey so far...right from the excitement of reading each comment... pleasure of sharing recipes....making new blogging friends and the gratitude of receiving accolades from people trying your recipes.It has surely made me find and try out many recipes which I'd have never attempted otherwise.I am learning new tricks and tips of food photography as well.
I would like to thank all my readers and fellow blogger friends for the wonderful support and encouragement...You keep me going !!!
With the first milestone achieved I feel much more elated and excited to move ahead in my blogging journey.
So here is something sweet to celebrate my FIRST BLOGGING milestone.What better than trying Saffron Rice which is such a warm and comforting dish perfect for this season !!!
Here is the sweet and simple recipe of Saffron Rice.
Ingredients
1/2 cup Rice
2 tbsp Milk
1 cup water
1 cup water
4 tbsp Sugar
Saffron strands
2 tsp Chopped nuts(cashews and raisins)
1 Bay leaf
1 Cinnamon stick
1 Star anise
1-2 Cardamoms
Almond for garnishing
Ghee
Method
Heat ghee in a saucepan.Add bay leaf,cardamom,cinnamon and star anise.Add nuts and fry till golden.Add rice(soaked for 15 minutes) and cook it for 1-2 minutes.Add sugar and mix.Add water,milk and saffron strands.Cover the lid and cook it for 3-4 minutes till rice is done.
Garnish it with almonds and serve warm.
Enjoy the snowy weather with saffron rice !!Its lovely sweet saffron aroma makes it simply divine !!
