Hope you all had a great weekend.Mine was good too ...with Valentine's day around the corner it was all about romantic movies.(yeah both hubby and me are movie freaks ).. I watched THE VOW and EK MAIN AUR EK TU.It was a total surprise for me coz I had great expectations from THE VOW which was a bit disappointing and I wasn't too excited about EMAET which turned out to be a great watch.

Coming back to food... Well knowingly or unknowingly pasta has become a part of our weekend meals. And when it comes to pasta we usually eat macaroni ,penne or fusilli..so this time we tried something different ...SPAGHETTI....I had never ever cooked spaghetti ...so I was a bit apprehensive before trying ...
Just had in mind a few cooking tips which I had once seen on Donna hay's cookery show
-100gms spaghetti per person.
- add spaghetti in boiling water...this is what cooks it well and al dente.
And that's it...it was no rocket science...infact cooking spaghetti is really simple.
Here's how I cooked it
Ingredients
200g Spaghetti
1 Onion sliced
1/2 cup Mixed peppers
1/4 cup sweetcorn
1 tbsp minced garlic
1tsp chilli flakes
1 vegetable stock cube
200 gms chopped tomatoes
1 Spring onion
1/2 tsp Basil
1 tsp Oregano
Salt and Pepper to taste
Olive Oil
Method
Boil water in a sauce pan, when water hits the boiling point, add spaghetti and cook till its al dente.
Heat oil in a pan, saute garlic and onion for 3 minutes till its translucent.Add peppers, sweetcorn and cook for two minutes.Add tomatoes and cook till done.Add veg stock cube with water and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes till it becomes a sauce consistency.Add chilli flakes, basil and oregano and mix.Add spaghetti and check seasoning.Garnish with spring onions and Parmesan cheese.
We just loved spaghetti.. its our favourite now.... and I think every weekend we will try out new versions ...so in the coming days I hope to share a lot of spaghetti recipes with you all.
